- When you book an appointment: bookings are made through Booksy, which collects your name and contact details. We see your booking; Booksy holds the account.
- If you sign up to emails: your email address and whether you opened our messages.
- Automatically: your IP address, browser, pages viewed and similar technical information, through cookies. See "Cookies" below.

Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We share it only with companies that help us run the shop, and only as far as they need it:
- Payments: Stripe (card payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay) and Klarna
- Delivery: Evri, our courier
- Website hosting and email: Hostinger (our website host) and Google (our email)
- Appointments: Booksy, our booking system
- Analytics: Google Analytics, through the Google Site Kit plugin
- Our accountant, and HMRC or other authorities where the law requires it
Some of these companies are outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on safeguards approved for international transfers, such as the UK's international data transfer agreement or adequacy regulations.
Reviews shown on this site
We display reviews from our Google Business Profile. Those reviews, including the reviewer's name and photo, are published by the reviewers on Google, and we show them here using Google's own service. When the page loads, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address. See Google's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as tax law requires.
- Account details: until you ask us to close your account.
- Emails and enquiries: 2 years unless we need them longer for a dispute.
- Marketing list: until you unsubscribe.
- Google Analytics data: kept by Google for 14 months, the period set in our Analytics account.
Your rights
You can ask us to: give you a copy of your data; correct it; delete it; limit how we use it; send it to another provider; or stop using it for our legitimate interests or for marketing. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Email thetwinsbarbers@gmail.com and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use:
- Essential cookies that make the shop work, such as remembering your basket and keeping you logged in. These don't need your consent.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) that tell us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they found us, so we can improve the site. These are only set if you agree, and they are not used to identify you personally.
You can change your choice at any time through the cookie banner, or by clearing cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies will stop the basket and checkout working.
Children
We cut children's hair in the shop, and they're very welcome. Where we hold any details about a child, such as a name for an appointment, those details are given to us by their parent or guardian, and we only use them for that appointment.
Online orders are a separate matter: they need a payment card, so they should be placed by someone aged 18 or over.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page.
